At the City Council workshop on April 2, 2021, the City Council discussed strategies to keep the downtown area active with events year-round rather than just a few times a year.  The Council gave consensus to move forward with an exciting new plan for the City’s downtown events and festivals.  The new approach gradually moves away from the large events and festivals that have previously taken place in the downtown area.  Instead, the City will use its existing budget to create more frequent, smaller and targeted activities in Murphy Park and the downtown area.  The City kicked off this plan with our inaugural LiVE! @ Murphy Park concert series in May. Plans are already underway for another LiVE! @Murphy Park series in October from 7-9 p.m. Thursday – Saturday each week. Also, the City will light up Murphy Park for the holidays this year from November 19, 2021, through January 9, 2022, similar to the way it was done in 2020.

Additional information about events in and around downtown will be posted here as it becomes available.

We have musicians from all over the country that usually make the trip out to perform in this festival. This year we’ve asked them to safely participate by sending us videos, from wherever they are, of any new music, poetry and art they’ve created this past year. All of the original goodness they would usually share at the ranch. Please enjoy this collection of videos and be sure to go check out all of the other amazing work these artists create as well!
