Community Watch Program

Mission:

The mission of the Glendale Police Department's Community Watch Program is to establish a partnership with our community to combat crime and keep our neighborhoods and community safe.

Overview:

Citizen provided security camera footage has become an extremely valuable asset to police departments to establish leads and identify individuals involved in criminal activity. The Community Watch Program is a wonderful opportunity for our citizens to help both deter crime and enhance crime prevention strategies within our communities.

The Community Watch Program is a completely voluntary program that allows our citizens to register their privately owned cameras with the police department. This program does not provide Glendale Police Department with direct access to your camera. Officers with Glendale PD will only contact you if they believe your camera could contain evidence related to a criminal investigation.

Often, after a crime, officers must go door to door to obtain any surveillance footage, this process is lengthy and footage can expire before officers can obtain the footage. This program allows for officers to quickly communicate with citizens to obtain video footage before the footage expires or is deleted, saving our officers time and allowing them to obtain valuable evidence.
