Volunteer Opportunities 

Glendale Elementary School District Food Distributions
Tuesdays and Wednesdays
GESD System of Care, 7677 W. Bethany Home Rd
Tuesdays (8am-10:30am), Wednesdays (7am-9am)

Every month, Glendale Elementary School District hold food distributions where they hand out 350+ food boxes to the community. The need for food boxes has increased steadily along with the need for volunteer support to get food to families effectively. There are two opportunities to help with each distribution; one day would be the packing of the food boxes and the following day would be handling the boxes out to the community. Below are the dates for the food distributions. 10-15 volunteers are needed for each volunteer opportunity. To register, please complete the form.

Grow Happiness Gardening Event

Saturday, September 21, 2024
Heart for the City Community Garden, 69th Ave and Keim Dr. (2 blocks north of Bethany Home Rd.)
8am-11am

Help prepare the Heart for the City Community Garden get ready for the fall planting season. The purpose of the garden is to provide information on gardening and nutrition for the community. Volunteer tasks include spreading woodchips around the fruit trees, planting seeds and transplanting, pulling grass from garden areas, and other general garden tasks. Please wear clothes that can get dirty and closed-toe shoes. To volunteer, please complete the form.


Dementia Friendly Glendale Awareness Day

2:30pm-6:30pm

For the 3rd Annual Dementia Friendly Glendale Awareness Day, we are seeking volunteers to assist with set up/clean up, carnival game attendants, registration assistance, and general event assistance. This is an indoor/outdoor event, so please dress accordingly. To register to volunteer, please complete the form.


Granada Estates Halloween Event

Various shifts between 4pm-8:30pm

On Sunday, October 27, we are seeking volunteers to help with providing a safe Halloween event. This event will be sponsored by the Granada Estates Coalition.  Volunteers are needed for setup (4-5:30pm), activity during the event (5:30-7:30pm), tear down (7:30-8:30pm).
