JESSI PEDERSON TO RETIRE FROM CITY OF GLENDALE AFTER NEARLY TWO DECADES
Trent Dutry named interim director of Economic Development
The city of Glendale has announced the retirement of longtime public servant Jessi Pederson, who has dedicated nearly 20 years to advancing economic development and fostering community growth. Pederson will be leaving the city to embark on a sabbatical to focus on her family and personal interests.
Pederson’s leadership and commitment have been instrumental in driving key initiatives that have strengthened Glendale’s business landscape. During her tenure, the Economic Development Department grew to include citywide special events, as well as arts and culture and tourism as part of Glendale’s strategic approach to economic vitality.
As the city bids farewell to Pederson, Glendale is pleased to appoint Trent Dutry as the Interim Director of Economic Development. Dutry brings a wealth of experience in business engagement and strategic development. Dutry spent nearly 30 years in the sports and entertainment industry with the Phoenix Suns. He led day-to-day operations, vendor negotiations and employee development. He most recently worked for Enchant Christmas, where he led large-scale event production and oversaw the Phoenix-based team. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from DeVry Institute, which will help ensure a seamless transition of support for the city’s highly esteemed Economic Development team.
Lori German, Deputy Director of Economic Development, will continue to lead the daily operations of the team’s business attraction, retention, small business support and tourism efforts. Her ongoing leadership and expertise in these areas will further enhance the city’s outreach, business support and visitor engagement initiatives.
“We are incredibly grateful for Jessi’s years of dedicated service and the positive impact she has had on Glendale’s success,” said Glendale City Manager Kevin Phelps. “As we move forward, we are confident that Trent’s leadership will drive our city’s strategic growth and success. We wish her the very best in her future endeavors.”
The city of Glendale remains committed to fostering a thriving growth environment with a well-skilled Economic Development team and looks forward to building upon the strong foundation established by Pederson’s tenure.
Pederson’s last day with the city of Glendale will be March 7.
