Landscape Design with Water in Mind
Sat. | Jan. 13th | 10 a.m. to Noon
Proper planning is vital to any design project. Learn the basic principles of how to create an attractive and Arizona-friendly landscape. Get hands-on experience creating a landscape design that is tailored to your yard by incorporating sun, shade, wind, and water elements. The best landscape plans work with Mother Nature.

Vegetable Gardening in the Low Desert
Sat. | Feb. 3th | 10 to Noon
There’s nothing tastier than fresh vegetables grown from your own garden. The low desert is great for water-wise gardening year-round since there are two growing seasons. This class will cover soil preparation, plant selection, and plant care. Now you can grow your veggies and eat them, too.

Xeriscape Garden Walk and Talk
Sat. | Mar. 10th | 10 a.m. to Noon
Take a leisurely stroll through the Glendale Xeriscape (low-water-use) Demonstration Garden that surrounds the Glendale Main Library. Learn about the unique adaptations that allow water-efficient plants to survive and thrive in the low desert. City of Glendale Water Services staff will provide a brief history of the garden, talk about upcoming projects, and lead a guided tour in the garden.  Attendees are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle and wear close-toed shoes and sun-protective gear.

The Giving Tree: Desert Tree Care Class
Wed. | Apr. 18th | 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Just in time for Arbor Day, this class will cover basic tree care. Trees provide us with so many benefits, from cleaning our air to keeping us cool. Protect our leafy friends by learning about proper selection, planting and maintenance.

Irrigation Repair and Maintenance
Sat. | May. 26th | 10 a.m. to Noon
Did you know that more than 50% of a typical household’s total water use is outdoors in the landscape? Irrigations systems require monitoring and maintenance to keep them efficient. Don’t let your landscape soak you! In this class, an irrigation specialist will cover irrigation components, irrigation problems, and basic repairs.
