Foundry’s CIO 100 award recognizes enterprise excellence and innovation in IT

Foundry’s CIO has named the city of Glendale as a 2023 CIO 100 award winner. For more than 30 years, the CIO 100 awards have recognized innovative organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of strategic and operational excellence in IT.

“This year’s class of award winners have distinguished themselves with many groundbreaking projects using AI, quantum computing, facial recognition, analytics and more,” said Anne McCrory, group vice president, customer experience and operations, events at Foundry and the chair of the 2023 CIO awards programs. “Their innovations improve customer experiences, track sustainability and reduce risk and have novel applications across industries, from pharma and health care to manufacturing, retail, software and more.”

The city of Glendale was named a CIO 100 Award winner for its Arizona Tax Central entry. This SaaS-based solution was an internal project that has since been sold to other Valley cities. The work for this project has been done in-house as part of a collaboration with the Department of Revenue. The Arizona Tax Central platform will become SOC 2 certified [MF1] within the next six months. The CIO award has been around for over 30 years and is given out both locally here in the United States and globally.

“I challenged my team with this project and they excelled and exceeded my expectations,” said Glendale’s Chief Information Officer Feroz Merchhiya. “We launched our platform last year with a goal of nine cities in mind. Currently, we have 20% of Valley cities using our platform.”

Executives from the winning companies will be recognized at the CIO 100 Symposium & Awards on Wednesday, August 16.
