City Hall Reopening to Public with Enhanced Safety Measures

The city of Glendale is pleased to announce Glendale City Hall will reopen to public access Monday, June 8. Access was restricted in mid-March to protect the safety of both residents and staff due to COVID-19. As the city reopens facilities, safety remains a top priority and we will be following recommended health guidelines. City Hall will be open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday.

Visitors to City Hall will be asked to follow physical distancing measures. To help ensure distancing, a maximum of three visitors will be allowed in the customer service area at one time. For those visiting City Hall to make a payment, only one family member will be allowed in the customer service area, due to space limitations. Residents may continue to use the payment drop box outside the first-floor entrance of City Hall as well.

Additional Safety Measures

  • Enhanced cleaning and sanitizing of high-touch areas, including door handles, elevator buttons and counters.
  • Hand sanitizer available to the public when entering the building.
  • Plexiglas barriers in customer service areas.
  • Face coverings are recommended. 

As the city has faced the COVID-19 pandemic, we have worked to find the appropriate balance between respecting public health orders and maintaining services for our residents.

Public Safety and City Court 

Does this closure impact public safety services like police and fire? 

No. While some services may be impacted considering recent events, public safety services remain in operation as normal. In the event of an emergency, please dial 911. 

Will this closure impact the City Court? 

Glendale City Court will be opening Monday, June 8th, 2020 for previously scheduled cases including Protection Orders and limited Walk-in Court. Social distancing measures will include COVID-19 screening questions, non-contact temperature checks and all members of the public are required to wear masks, per Supreme Court Administrative Order 2020-79.

City Services
 

Will this closure impact trash collection? 
No. Trash collection and landfill services remain in operation during this closure. However, effective 03/19/2020, the Glendale Municipal Landfill will only accept debit/credit cards for all customer transactions. No cash or coin will be accepted until further notice. 

Will this closure impact water services? 
No. Water Services staff work 24-hours a day, seven days a week to deliver safe, reliable water services to the community we serve. 

During this closure will water be disconnected? 
No. The city of Glendale is suspending any disconnections from our utilities (water/sewer/trash/recycle). Please call our office at 623-930-3190. 

 

Community Action Program


Information regarding eligibility requirements for rent/mortgage and utility assistance programs can be found online at www.glendaleaz.com/cap.  To obtain additional information about eligibility requirements, application process, or funding availability please call 623-930-2854, select option 3, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The CAP lobby will be open to the public for drop-off and pick-up of paperwork as needed but we are not taking in-person appointments until further notice. 

Community Revitalization
 

The Community Revitalization Offices will be closed, those interested in obtaining services from Community Revitalization can contact us at: revitalization@glendaleaz.com or by calling us at 623-930-3670, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. All requests for service will be answered within 24 hours.

City Council

The public will be able to attend City Council Meetings and Board and Commission meetings in person starting with the City Council Workshop and Voting Meeting Tuesday, May 26.
 That meeting will be held at the Glendale Civic Center and appropriate measures will be in place for physical spacing consistent with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines

Accounts, Bills and Fees
 

How do I pay my utility bill?   

There are multiple options available:

  • Automated telephone system:  623-930-3639 
  • Customer service: 623-930-3190 - Phone hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (excluding City observed holidays)
  • There is a payment drobox located on the 1st floor of Glendale City Hall next to the main entrance. If you have a cash payment, we encourage you to purchase a money order or cashier’s check.

What should I do if I have a question about my bill?

What happens if I miss a payment?  
You will continue to receive a bill for your city services, however the city will not be charging late fees or interest while City Hall is closed. We appreciate your prompt payment. 

How do I start or stop utility services (Water, Sewer, Trash/Recycle, Irrigation)?   
Service may be started over the phone. A deposit may be required at time of set-up. 623-930-3190 (select option 2). 

How do I pay a Parks and Recreation fee?

Picking up hard copy plans that are approved or redlined will be available through the 2nd floor exterior entrance by first calling 623-930-3289.

Glendale Visitor Center 


Although the Visitor Center will be closed to the public, Glendale, AZ travel information is available 24/7 at www.VisitGlendale.com or call 623-930-4500, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
