OFFICIAL START OF SUMMER WITH GLENDALE AQUATICS
Special Discount Days Continue at Rose Lane Location Tuesdays-Thursdays

If you’re ready to dive into summer fun, the wait is almost over. Get ready for lots of fun in the sun at Glendale’s two aquatics facilities and splash pad! Here is all the information you’ll need to keep cool and learn to swim at city of Glendale pools and amenities:

Recreation Swim
The city’s two facilities, Rose Lane Aquatics Center (5003 W. Marlette Ave.) and Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center (5600 W. Union Hills Dr.), will be opening for the summer swim season on Saturday, June 1, running through Aug. 3.

Foothills, which offers year-round lap-swimming, will offer the following summer hours of operation: Monday - Thursday: 1 - 5 p.m.; Friday: 1 - 7 p.m.; Saturday: 12 - 5 p.m.; and Sunday: 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Rose Lane will be open Tuesday - Friday: 1 - 5 p.m.; Saturday - Sunday: 1 - 6 p.m.; and closed on Monday.

This year, the city will again offer special “Discount Days” at the Rose Lane Aquatics Center only. This means that anyone, regardless of residency or age, can swim for just $1.50, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays!

Admission prices for Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center, and Friday-Sunday admittance to Rose Lane are:
• Ages 2 and under: free
• Ages 3-17: $2.50 Resident/ $3.50 Nonresident
• Ages 18-54: $5 Resident/ $6 Nonresident
• Ages 55+: $3 Resident/ $5 Nonresident

The Rose Lane “Discount Day” special price supersedes all other discounts; it is a better discount than the veteran’s or low-income youth discount offered to residents. Those discounts will still be available to Glendale residents on aquatics admission at Rose Lane Fridays through Sundays.

Splash Pad
The city’s splash pad, located at Heroes Regional Park (83rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road) will be open May 25 - Aug. 11 daily, 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. Beginning Aug. 17 through Sept. 2, it will be open weekends only
between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. There is no admission fee for the splash pad.

Swim Lessons
Glendale residents can register for swim lessons beginning Monday, May 20 at 8 a.m. Non-residents can register beginning Thursday, May 23 at 8 a.m. A total of four group sessions are offered, with multiple days and
times, beginning in both June and July at both locations. All lessons are suspended the holiday week of July 1.

Glendale’s new registration system makes it quick and easy to sign up online! You can also contact the Parks & Recreation offices at 623-930-2820 or 623-930-4600.
