There are so many ways to support the Glendale Public Library...
Honor a special person or organization, or simply contribute to the Library, by picking up a "Buy a Book" donation envelope at any of the Glendale Library locations. 100% of your contribution goes to the Library and your donation is tax-deductible.
Friends of the Glendale Public Library
The Friends of the Glendale Public Library is a non-profit, grassroots membership group dedicated to promoting Glendale's library system, an essential institution of our community. If you would like to join, please click here for more information. You can also visit their Facebook page here.
The Library welcomes gifts that present an opportunity to carry on the life interests of an individual or group, or that celebrates a special and meaningful occasion. Donors may suggest a particular subject, or selection will be made by library staff. The donor's name and the person or organization being honored are inscribed on a book plate placed in each book. The materials are then placed on our shelves for the enjoyment of all library patrons. For more information please contact the Library Administration office at 623-930-3567.
Book & Material Donations
The Library appreciates your donations of books, DVDs and audiobooks in good condition. All items are evaluated by librarians to determine if donations will be added to the collection. Donations not added to the collection will be sold in our sale, otherwise disposed of, or recycled. All proceeds benefit the Library and your gifts are tax deductible; please note that staff are not permitted to assess the value of donated materials.
Volunteers comprise an important part of the libraries' operations and perform a variety of duties. Whether you are an adult, student, or senior citizen, employed or retired, you will be a welcome addition to the library team. Teens interested in volunteering can visit the Teen Volunteer Page for more information.
There are volunteer opportunities throughout the Library system, at all branches and in most departments, although there may not be vacancies for all positions at any given time. For a listing of possible positions, job descriptions and to apply online, click here.
For more information on volunteering at a specific branch, please contact the branch directly.
