Check Out What’s New, As City Libraries Welcome Residents Back
The city is of Glendale is welcoming residents back to the library with a phased
reopening in the month of May. Designed for grab-and-go. walk-through access, this is a limited
opening adhering to public health guidelines. Access to all library branches has been restricted since
mid-March in accordance with recommended safety guidance due to COVID-19. And while online
assets including e-books, audio books, movies and more have been available, this new step will
allow patrons to once again grab a real page turner. Beginning, Monday, May 11, the Main library
branch will open a designated area to visitors which is stocked with new titles and popular items.
To help maintain recommended physical distancing during this reopening, a maximum of 25 guests
will be allowed in at any given time. All materials are shelved to allow patrons to browse at a safe
distance from others. Staff will be on hand to help remind patrons to maintain appropriate spacing
and assist them to quickly find and check out materials. Staff will also be doing additional cleaning
of frequently touched surfaces and all returned material will be quarantined for 72 hours in
accordance with safety guidelines.
