Arizona's Capitol Tree Stops in Glendale for Centennial Celebration
Glendale’s Mayor and Council, a representative from Arizona’s Capitol Tree Committee and students from Glendale High School and Landmark Middle School gathered Thursday, Nov. 12, as the city honored the first-ever capitol Christmas tree from Arizona during a stop in Glendale on it's journey to Washington, D.C.
The Capitol Tree, making its way through the Valley on its way from the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest to the Capitol in Washington, D.C., stopped for a visit in Glendale as part of Glendale’s Centennial Celebration. Students, who created ornaments to travel with the capitol tree to Washington, were also at the event to decorate the Glendale Glitters Centennial tree, with Santa Claus on hand to help out.
