It is the intent of the City of Glendale (“City”) to establish an annual contract for the maintenance and installation of street and area lighting. There are approximately 20,200 streetlights and 800 decorative pedestrian lights (in the downtown Glendale area) in the City. Approximately 50% of these lights are in the Salt River Project (SRP) service area and 50% in Arizona Public Service (APS) service area. A map of the service areas is available in the City Street Lighting Manual. The system consists of approximately 97% high pressure sodium, 2% LED luminaries, and 1% metal halide. The City is in the process of converting nearly all HPS and metal halide luminaires to LED technology. This work is expected to be completed by mid-2018. HPS post-top luminaires will remain in place.
