Open Door @ ASU West; ASU West Campus|
11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Collaboration of ASU's New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College and W.P. Carey School of Business. ASU's West campus will open the doors on Saturday, March 2, for interactive programming from all three colleges at ASU's West campus. More details to come, click here for the latest.

STEM Takes Flight at West-MEC; Glendale Municipal Airport | 9 a.m. - noon
West-MEC is a public school district dedicated to innovative career and technical education (CTE). Join us, along with our partners in CTE, Peoria Unified and Bechtel Corp, for a morning of STEM exploration at the West-MEC Aviation Facility. Tour the airplane hangar for a look at airplanes and aircraft equipment. Create air gliders for an aerospace challenge on site. Let your creativity soar in a LEGOs building workshop, check out live demos of VEX robotics technology, and participate in other exciting STEM activities. Click here for more info.

Tuesday, March 12, 2013 Hands-On Healthcare: Blood, Spit and Tears; Midwestern University | 4-7 p.m.
Event will include three rotating workshops offering families and teens/adults the opportunity to tour Midwestern University simulation labs and participate in hands-on medical activities. Activities will last about 30 minutes each and will include a tour of the dental simulation lab and a "CSI" investigation of teeth marks; a clinical skills medical case scenario utilizing a high-tech mannequin similar to those used on Grey's Anatomy; and a sports vision training workshop in the gym demonstrating techniques for improving hand-eye coordination, peripheral vision, and more. DeVry University, the City of Glendale, Westgate Entertainment District, Midwestern University, Glendale Community College and many other West Valley education leaders and organizations are teaming up to provide the community with an interactive and fun event centered around the science and technology of hockey. You don’t have to be a hockey fan to love this event.
