Visual Improvement Program

Good News for Centerline Business & Property Owners!

There is still time to apply for the Visual Improvement Program, but time is running out so don’t delay.  This grant program is designed to assist property and business owners in completing exterior improvements by offering a rebate of up to 50 percent on qualified projects. The program is intended to encourage property owners and long-term tenants to reinvest and renovate their properties.

Eligible business and property owners are located with the city’s identified redevelopment area, which ranges from 43rd to 67th avenues, from Maryland to Orangewood.

This year the program is funded through Federal Community Development Block Grant – Recovery Funds “CDBG-R” and only properties located in the City’s Redevelopment District (Centerline Area) are eligible for assistance.  Funds will expire at the end of November, so act now! 

Improvements to the exterior of buildings qualify for funding and can include a number of things such as:

• façade improvements
• landscaping
• parking facilities
• signage
• painting
• awnings
• lighting
• seating elements
• pedestrian improvements, etc. 

Any exterior improvements approved by the city may be eligible for this program.
