Floralcroft Neighborhood ROW Improvements
Glendale to Begin Improvement Project for Historic Neighborhood
Residents in the historic Floralcroft neighborhood will notice some street construction in their neighborhood beginning late January 2010.
The neighborhood will benefit from improvements paid for by American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds. The grant of $240,000 will be used to install new pedestrian lighting and various sidewalk improvements throughout the neighborhood, which is located west of 59th Avenue, north of Myrtle Avenue and along the south side of State Avenue.
This grant is a one-time allocation made possible by the city receiving stimulus dollars. It is anticipated this project will generate between 20-25 jobs in the community and further revitalize the immediate area surrounding the Glendale Centerline.
