INTERACTIVE DEMONSTRATIONS AT JAN. 21
FIRE STATION OPEN HOUSE WILL HELP
RESIDENTS PREPARE FOR EMERGENCIES
GLENDALE, Ariz. – Mayor Elaine Scruggs is hosting a free Safety Fair & Fire Station Open House from 8 – 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21 at Fire Station #158, 6261 N. 83rd Ave.
Residents will learn new ways -- through interactive demonstrations on first-aid readiness and fire extinguisher use -- to better prepare themselves and their families for home emergencies and natural or man-made disasters.
In addition, the event will enable citizens to learn about city programs and services available to help them prepare and respond to emergencies, such as creating a home evacuation plan.
The safety fair is made possible through the Office of the Mayor, Glendale Fire Department, APS, Arrowhead Hospital, Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, Midwestern University and Southwest Ambulance.
Residents are asked to register in advance for the upcoming event by calling 623-930-2259 or online at www.glendaleaz.com/RSVP.
Community and youth groups are welcome to attend and refreshments will be served.
