TO SPEAK AT GLENDALE MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.
UNITY DAY LUNCHEON, PRESENTED BY SRP
WHO: Members of the community, local elected officials and city representatives will celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the city’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Day Luncheon.
WHAT: Rodney Peete will be the event’s keynote speaker. Peete was asked to speak at this year’s event because of his local ties to the Valley, his outstanding professional football career and his proven leadership – both on and off the field. This year’s “Promoting Inclusiveness Award” will also be presented to Dr. Warren Stewart Sr. of the First Institutional Baptist Church of Phoenix.
WHERE: Glendale Civic Center, 5750 W. Glenn Drive (1 block north of Glendale Avenue)
WHEN: Friday, Jan. 13 Noon to 1:30 p.m. (Rodney to speak at approx. 12:30 p.m., with the award presentation to immediately follow.) Both he and Dr. Stewart will be available for interviews before and after the event.)
