Police - West Valley Advocacy Center
The goal of the West Valley Advocacy Center is to provide comprehensive and coordinated services to crime victims in a safe, comfortable, and convenient setting.
About the West Valley Advocacy Center
The West Valley Advocacy Center, a partnership between the Glendale Police Department, A New Leaf (formerly PreHab of Arizona) , Arizona Child Protective Services, Forensic Nurse Examiners, the Maricopa County Attorney's Office, and St. Joseph's Medical Center, was designed to be a "One Stop Center" for victims of family violence, child abuse, and sex crimes. The Center is available for residents and law enforcement agencies throughout the West Valley.
The WVAC includes facilities for forensic interviews and examinations, therapy, and consultation between law enforcement personnel and victim services personnel. Forensic use of the Center must be arranged through the Glendale Police Department (623) 930-3000. Since 1998, fourteen Advocacy Centers have opened throughout Arizona. Nationally, approximately 400 Centers are members of the National Children's Alliance.
