Physical Assessment
The testing process for police officer, trainee and reserve officer includes a series of physical assessments. The assessments consist of the following:
- 1.5 Mile Run
- Sit-ups
- Push-ups
To further assist you in preparing for Glendale's physical assessments and the training academy, the Arizona Law Enforcement Academy (ALEA) has created this
physical fitness guide.
1.5 Mile Run: |
Each applicant will begin by running 1.5 miles that must be completed in
14 minutes and 59 seconds. |
Sit-Ups: |
Push-ups: |
Each applicant must be able to complete 28 sit-ups within one minute. |
Each applicant must be able to complete 19 push-ups as demonstrated. |
