Police - News Glendale Police Mourn The Loss Of Officer Anthony Holly GLENDALE, Ariz. – Glendale Police Officer Anthony Holly was shot and killed in the line of duty this morning in the vicinity of 5200 North 61st Avenue while assisting on a routine traffic stop. At approx 7:20 AM, Glendale officers stopped a small sedan for a suspected registration violation. The car was occupied by three people. The driver had been removed and arrested for outstanding warrants. The officers were preparing to deal with a male passenger who suddenly exited the car and opened fire, fatally wounding Officer Holly. Another officer returned fire hitting the suspect who sustained a non-life threatening wound. The suspect was then subdued and transported to County Hospital for treatment. He has been booked on one count of first-degree murder and other charges. This man is identified as Bryan Hulsey. Hulsey appears to be in his early 30’s. Two other persons are being questioned related to this incident, which remains under investigation Glendale Police are confident that they have the person or persons responsible for this crime in custody. We wish to extend our thanks to the Phoenix Police Department for their superb assistance in this case and to thank the many agencies and citizens who have come forward to express their sorrow and sympathy.
