GLENDALE, Ariz. – Just after 6:00 am on the morning of August 29, 2002, the deceased body of Bicente Flores was discovered near 61st Avenue and Gardenia. Investigators described the death as a brutal murder and asked for the community’s assistance with information on solving the case.
With help from the public and evidence in the case, Glendale Police were able to arrest 37 year old Tony Guillen this morning (01/27/09) in connection to the murder of Bicente Flores.
Mr. Flores was an active member of his Glendale community. On that morning in 2002, Mr. Flores left his Glendale home at approximately 4:30 am for his daily walk. Family members began searching the area when Mr. Flores failed to return by 6:00 am, as he was usually home by 5:30 am.
Investigators believed that someone in the neighborhood may have had more details about what happened that day. Detectives encouraged anyone with information to contact the Glendale Police Department’s “Cold Case” Detective Roger Geisler.
Although an arrest has been made today in regards to this case, police are still continuing to seek help from the community. Anyone with information related to Mr. Flores’s murder is asked to call the Glendale Police Department’s tip line at 623-930-3399. |
