Wal-Mart Provides Financial Contribution
to West Valley Advocacy Center

GLENDALE, Ariz. – The West Valley Advocacy Center received a $6,000 contribution Feb. 6 from Wal-Mart #1532, located at 5845 W. Bell Road. The money will be utilized to assist victims of abuse and domestic violence with a variety of necessary items including food, shelter, clothing, diapers, toiletries and more. It will also be used to help the Glendale Police Department’s initiative to implement a personal defense program for victims of violent assaults.

The West Valley Advocacy Center, 6829 N. 57th Drive, assists victims of domestic violence and cases of abuse. It is operated under the direction of police department employees as well as many volunteers that serve in a variety of capacities.

Wal-Mart Corporation has been a longtime supporter of public safety in Glendale and throughout the United States thanks to numerous donations as well as its highly successful Safe Neighborhood Heroes grant program, which provides assistance to agencies in obtaining certain needs as well as helping to establish programs.
