GLENDALE, Ariz. – The West Valley Advocacy Center received a $6,000 contribution Feb. 6 from Wal-Mart #1532, located at 5845 W. Bell Road. The money will be utilized to assist victims of abuse and domestic violence with a variety of necessary items including food, shelter, clothing, diapers, toiletries and more. It will also be used to help the Glendale Police Department’s initiative to implement a personal defense program for victims of violent assaults.
The West Valley Advocacy Center, 6829 N. 57th Drive, assists victims of domestic violence and cases of abuse. It is operated under the direction of police department employees as well as many volunteers that serve in a variety of capacities. |
