Three Suspects Arrested in Mervyn’s Stabbing

Detectives from the Glendale Police Department have identified, located, and arrested all three suspects from the stabbing that took place at the Mervyn’s store at Arrowhead Towne Center on October 1st. The suspects were located in reverse order, with the getaway driver being arrested first, then the second suspect from the store, and finally the primary suspect, who allegedly stabbed the victim.

The female accomplice who drove the getaway car has been identified as Tanya Lee Morales (w/f 5/13/72), with no current address. Morales was booked for Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault. The second suspect from the store has been identified as Spencer Kenneth Brewster (w/m 8/24/69), with no known address. Brewster was booked for Aggravated Robbery. The primary suspect has been identified as Shaun Geeslin (w/m 9/26/72) of Phoenix. Geeslin was just arrested a short time ago.

Investigators first developed information about the suspect vehicle, which led to Morales, who is the registered owner. Further investigation led to the identification of Brewster. The two were arrested early Tuesday morning in central Phoenix. Geeslin was located in north Phoenix this afternoon by officer from the Phoenix Police Department. As noted above, Geeslin’s arrest is a recent event. He is being transported to the Glendale Police Department for processing.

Glendale, AZ - PoliceStabbing Update

October 3, 2008 - Glendale police detectives continue to investigate the armed robbery and aggravated assault case that occurred Wednesday night (10/1) at the Mervyn’s store at Arrowhead Towne Center. Anthony Ely, 27, of Glendale, was stabbed when he attempted to disarm a knife-wielding suspect who was fighting with loss prevention employees.

Investigators are releasing surveillance video of the two suspects in the hope that someone will identify them. The video shows the two men walking around the store carrying the shoes they intended to steal, then the confrontation with employees at the exit. The clean-shaven bald man is the suspect who stabbed the victim immediately outside the store.
