Shred It and Forget It

A free event designed to promote public awareness about identity theft and fraud prevention - October 24, 2009

The Glendale Police Department is teaming up with the Target Corporation Saturday, October 24, for the “Shred It and Forget It” event. This is a free event designed to promote public awareness about identity theft and fraud prevention. According to the Federal Trade Commission, identity theft impacts at least 9 million people each year. Shredding documents, instead of throwing them in the garbage, is an essential tool in combating identity theft.

Community members are invited to bring their unwanted personal documents to be shredded securely on site, free of charge. Local police officers and Crime Prevention Specialists will be on hand to assist Glendale residents with the shredding of up to three boxes of personal documents at no charge from 9 a.m. until noon at the Target Store located at 10404 N. 43rd Avenue.

Event participation is on a first come, first served basis. For more information about this free event, please contact Carol Bolick at (623) 930-2571 or email cbolick@glendaleaz.com.
