Michael Lopez - Case number
93-73105
On September 9, 1993 at 1:36 a.m. Glendale Police Officers went to the apartment complex at 4500 W Ocotillo Rd in which citizens called saying someone had been shot. Officers found the body of sixteen-year-old Michael Lopez in a parking lot in the complex. Witnesses told police a young black male driving a dark blue Oldsmobile drove past Michael and words were yelled back and forth between the subjects. The black male pointed a gun at Michael and shot him, before leaving the area at a high rate of speed. Investigators feel the death of Michael was a result of an argument between the two parties over local rival street gangs. As of this time the suspect in Michael’s death has not been identified.
