On December 14, 1986,Genero Cortez was found dead inside of his own vehicle parked in the parking lot of a small shopping center at 5510 W Camelback Rd. Genero and his wife and children lived in a residence near the area his body was found. Genero’s wife told police he had been receiving many strange telephone calls recently, and on the morning of his death someone called asking him to meet. Genero left the home to meet up with the unknown person and was never heard from again. As of this time there is no known suspect or motive for the murder of Genero Cortez.
