How To Get Your Passport in a Hurry

Normal processing time for a passport application is 25 working days. Generally, if you know when you’re traveling, we recommend filling in your departure date on the DS-11 and DS-82 passport application forms. Those who need their passport in a hurry may request expedited processing of their application regardless of their departure date.  There is an additional $60 fee per passport for expedited processing. This includes ALL passport services including issuance, amendment, extension of validity and adding visa pages.

Expedited Passport Renewal by Mail

There is also expedited service available for passport renewal by mail. Expedited passport renewals by mail must include all items required to apply for your passport by mail and the additional $60 expedite fee. Clearly mark the envelope EXPEDITE. How Long Will it Take?

Expedited passports are processed within seven to 10 working days of receipt by the passport agency. If you would like overnight or express delivery, payment for this service should be presented in person at the passport acceptance facility or included with the other items by mail for passport renewal.
