Glendale Folk & Heritage Festival performers with guitars and harmonica Entertainment and Vendors Needed for Folk & Heritage Festival!
The Folk & Heritage festival is an annual event celebrating folk music, its history and culture. It will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, March 21 and 22 in 2015. If you have a musical group, perform storytelling, poetry or a cultural program that would be a great fit for this event, or if you would like to be a vendor, click here to download an application.

Registration Begins for More Than 100 Classes

Glendale Parks and Recreation offers more than 100 classes  for adults, teens and youth in the areas of arts, cooking, fitness, sports, wellbeing, music, dance and personal development.  Registration begins Aug. 1.  All the class information can be found in the Glendale@Play magazine available by clicking here or the Glendale libraries, Glendale Adult Center and the Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center.

Before/After School Recreation Programs Start Again for the School Year
G.R.A.S.P. (Glendale Recreation After School Program) is a licensed recreation program, which provides a variety of activities for children ages 5 to 13 such as arts and crafts, recreation activities, guest speakers and much more. Click here for details.

This program is full of fun methods that will allow students to learn proper voice technique. Classes include Singing for Little Stars (5:30 to 6:15 p.m., ages 4-7), Super Singers (6:30 to 7:15 p.m., ages 8-14), and Adult Singing (7:30 to 8:30 p.m., ages 18+). Click on class titles for details.

5 to 6:30 p.m., Thursdays for 4 weeks beginning Nov. 6, at the Brelby Theatre Company, 6839 N. 58th Ave.
(Ages 13-18) Level 1 for first-time students is designed to teach new actors and to push established actors to the next level. Level 2 for returning students includes scene study and character building, improv, musical theater, movement for the actor, stage combat, etc. Click here for details.
Baseball, bat, and glove Lil’ Sluggers Baseball
Held for 6 weeks on Saturdays beginning Nov. 8, at Oasis Park, 79th Ave. & Utopia
This course introduces fielding, throwing, hitting, base recognition and overall motor skill development to children ages 2-6. Parental assistance is required for the 2-3 year old classes only. Please bring a baseball glove and baseball tee. Each session lasts 45 minutes with ages 2-3 playing at 9 a.m. and ages 3-6 playing at 10 a.m. Click here for details.

Microgreens are certain vegetables and herbs harvested young that can be grown in containers either indoors or out. Learn the basics of guitar playing. No prior experience required. Student will be required to provide their own guitar. We provide a variety of recreation, educational and social activities for Glendale citizens from toddler to senior adult through special interest classes, the Adult Center, sports, aquatics and after school programs. We are responsible for park maintenance, park planning and the scheduling of 44 facilities including meeting rooms, ramadas, swimming pools, recreation centers and lighted and unlighted sports fields.
