Summer Youth Drop-In Recreation Program
Glendale Kids – Join us for summer fun!
A FREE, fully supervised city-wide program featuring
Games - Special Events - Swimming Sports - Special Guests
Awareness Programs - Arts & Crafts - Field Trips

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Children who have completed kindergarten through those entering 8th grade in the fall may participate in the program. Children must sign in each day for attendance purposes but may leave the site at any time. Once children have left the program, they must leave the campus area. All participants must have an emergency card, behavioral contract and code of conduct form on file at the site. Parents are asked to stop into the site on the first day and fill out this information. Registration materials may also be picked up in advance from the Glendale Parks and Recreation office, 5850 W. Glendale Ave., and the child can bring them to the site the first day they attend. No preregistration is required! For information, please call Deanna at 623-930-2842. All sites will be closed July 4.

Join us for the 2007 Summer Youth Field Trip Package
A different field trip is offered every Wednesday,
June 6 through July 18 (excluding July 4) from the following site locations:
Marshall Ranch, Kachina, Greenbrier, Pioneer, Copperwood, Heritage, Smith, O’Neil Recreation Center, Burton, Barcelona, Glendale Community Center, Sahuaro Ranch, Bicentennial North, Rose Lane Recreation Center, Canyon, Desert Mirage, Foothills Elementary

Only $60 per child! Includes guaranteed placement for all six field trips, transportation and staff supervision. The registration deadline is Friday, May 25, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. Sorry, NO REFUNDS. If you wish to purchase additional items or rentals, not otherwise included, children must bring additional money. June 20 Diamondbacks Hot dog, popcorn and drink provided. 10:00 a.m. site pickup.
June 27 IMAX Bring sack lunch or money to purchase items from snack bar. 8:30 a.m. site pickup
July 11 Mercury Camp Hot dog, chips and drink provided 10:00 a.m. site pickup.
July 18 Water World Hamburger or hot dog, chips and drink. Children must wear a swimsuit and be able to swim. Must provide own sunscreen 8:30 a.m. site pickup.

Summer Licensed Childcare Program
This program offers children the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities in a supervised, safe and secure environment. Activities include arts and crafts, computer stations, guest speakers, cultural events, field trips, group games, mini tournaments, club activities and special events. It is fee-based, licensed and regulated by the Arizona Department of Health Services and qualifies for DES assistance. Space is limited. Registration forms, including immunization and emergency information, must be completed and turned in before your child may attend. Forms will be available at the school and the Glendale Parks and Recreation office, 5850 W. Glendale Ave. Participants must bring a non-perishable sack lunch. Just for Teens!

Doing After School Recreation Enrichment Classes

This is a shout out to all teens in Glendale... Come join over 400 teens at one of the hottest teen after-school hangouts on the campus of Copper Canyon High School. This program is exclusively for teens ages 13-17 years old! We have expanded our student lounge to two rooms that now feature an 8-foot pool table, foosball, ping-pong table, kick back couches, PS2 and the XBOX 360 on two flat screen TV’s.

If that ain’t your thang... then join any of our programs that are guaranteed to keep you coming back for more! Programs include hip hop dance, deejay classes, culinary arts, open weight room/gym, d’zigns class and much more! In addition... there are skills specific programs, guest speakers, fine arts and special events. For dates and times, just call 623-478-4899 and ask for Christine.

Don’t forget to get hooked up on wild and crazy field trips to the hottest teen spots in AZ, including professional sporting events, laser tag, rock climbing and MUCH MORE! The best part about it... It’s all FREE!
