Swim & Diving Team Information

The City of Glendale does not offer competitive team programs. As alternative options, following is a list of community organizations that offer competitive team programs. (Note: These organizations are NOT affiliated with the City of Glendale).

  • Swim Neptune - Practice at Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center, 5600 W. Union Hills Dr., and at the Glendale Peoria YMCA located at 14711 N 59th Ave. Offers a summer swim and diving team/league similar to the program Glendale has offered in previous years.
  • Arizona Swimming Gauchos / 602-674-0125 - Practice at Glendale Community Pool at Glendale Community College, 6000 W. Olive Ave. Offers swim training and competitive meets for all levels.

The Glendale Aquatics Division would like to remind Glendale residents to follow some simple rules for water safety and healthy swimming. These rules should apply to your backyard pool and any pool you may visit during the summer.

  • Always watch your children around water (even at pools with lifeguards)
  • Learn CPR (The Glendale Fire Department Offers Classes)
  • Teach your children (and yourself) how to swim
  • Follow the 6 “PLEAs” of Healthy Swimming (Directly from Center for Disease Control Website):
arrow Please do not swim when you have diarrhea. This is especially important for kids in diapers. You can spread germs and make other people sick.
arrow Please do not swallow pool water. Avoid getting water in your mouth.
arrow Please practice good hygiene. All City of Glendale Pools require participants to take a shower before swimming. Please wash your hands after using the restroom or changing diapers. Germs on your body may end up in the water.
arrow Please take your kids for bathroom breaks or check diapers often. Waiting to hear “ I have to go” may mean it’s too late.
arrow Please change diapers and swim suits in the bathroom or changing area and not poolside. Germs can spread to surfaces and objects in and around the pool and spread illness.
arrow Please wash your child thoroughly (especially the rear end) with soap and water before swimming. Everyone has invisible amounts of fecal matter on their bottoms that end up in pools.
  • For more information on water safety and swimming programs, please call 623 930-2840.Keep you and your family safe .
