3rd Annual Youth Football Festival

Come out and enjoy all the fun that is Youth Football — for FREE! Glendale Parks and Recreation will host its 3rd Annual Youth Football Festival, Thursday, April 30. Featured will be skills clinics for youth of all ages, experience, skill levels and positions; local youth football leagues (both tackle and flag) will provide information about their programs; educational sessions for parents and coaches will be offered and vendors will be on sight with equipment and information. The festival will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Youth Sports Complex (next to the University of Phoenix Stadium) at 91st Ave and Bethany Home Road. Teen Coed SOFTBALL League

Ages 13-17
SIGN UP: Through MAY 8 (Late Sign Up: May 11–22 till 5 p.m. $10 late fee)

Teens, stay active this summer with our Teen Coed Summer Softball League! Get your friends and classmates together for summer evening fun! This league plays by the Glendale Adult Softball Coed Rules. Sign-up as an individual, partial team or full team. Teams consist of a minimum of 12 and maximum of 16 players on a roster (with 50% of players on the field consisting of each gender). All teams must have an adult to represent them as a team manager. GAMES START THE WEEK OF JUNE 1 and will be played on Tuesdays/Thursdays between 6 and 10 p.m. at Paseo Racquet Center (63rd Ave. and Thunderbird Rd.) or Sahuaro Ranch Park (63rd Ave. and Mountain View Rd.). Junior OFFICIALS (Football/Soccer)

SIGN UP: MAY 4–29 (Late Sign Up: June 1–26 till 5 p.m. $10 late fee)

Teens 16 and older — love sports? Want to know how to make money while being around the sport you love? Learn to become an official. Our Junior Officials program allows you to learn what it takes to become a quality official. We are offering seven weeks of classes in football and soccer officiating. Instruction will include classroom work and on-site instruction to teach you how to handle all aspects of the game, from knowing the rules to working with coaches. Classes are led by veteran officials. Football classes will be held on Tuesday evenings; Soccer classes on Wednesdays. CLASSES START THE WEEK OF JULY 6 at 6 p.m. at Glendale City Hall, 5850 W. Glendale Ave. Space is limited, so don’t delay!
