Main Street Glendale and USA Basketball Financing Approved
La Paz County Industrial Authority has approved $1.2 billion in bond financing for Arizona based HB Equities. Considered one of the largest bond authority approvals in the state’s history, the bulk of the bonds will be used to fund the Main Street development; a major mixed-use commercial development surrounding the state’s new Camelback Ranch Glendale spring training facility and site of the future USA Basketball headquarters. Glendale Police Make Arrest On 2002 Murder Suspect
Just after 6:00 am on the morning of August 29, 2002, the deceased body of Bicente Flores was discovered near 61st Avenue and Gardenia. Investigators described the death as a brutal murder and asked for the community’s assistance with information on solving the case. With help from the public and evidence in the case, Glendale Police were able to arrest 37 year old Tony Guillen this morning (01/27/09) in connection to the murder of Bicente Flores.  Read more
USA Basketball Is Coming to Glendale
The national governing body for men’s and women’s basketball will be the latest sporting gem to join Glendale’s all-star sports and entertainment line up thanks to a Memorandum of Understanding approved by the Glendale City Council Nov. 18, 2008. The city of Glendale does not handle the retrieval of such carts or any part of the process. There is a local company that many retail stores contract with to carry out these services. To report an abandoned cart, residents can contact Arizona Cart Retrieval by calling 1-800-THE-CART.

2008-09 Budget Book
The Glendale City Council unanimously approved the city’s 2008-09 budget on June 24, 2008. In addition to adopting the next fiscal year’s budget, the Council voted on the property tax levy, which amounted to a decrease of approximately 2.5 cents.
