Holiday Notice - Upcoming Holiday Notice
City of Glendale offices will be closed for the upcoming days: Tuesday, Nov. 11 for the Veterans Day holiday, and Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
All households’ scheduled garbage and recycling will be shifted one day later due to the holidays. The Glendale Municipal Landfill will be closed on Veterans Day and Thanksgiving Day, but open on Friday, Nov. 28. For more information about the city’s sanitation services, please call 623-930-2660.
Valley Metro buses will run on a Sunday schedule on all of these holidays. The Gus Bus will also operate on a Sunday schedule Nov. 11 and 27-28, running from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. For Dial-a-Ride service for Veterans Day, reservations must be made in advance by noon on Monday, Nov. 10. Dial-a-Ride service for Thanksgiving weekend (Nov. 27-30) must also be made ahead of time – by noon on Wednesday, Nov. 26. Reservations can be made by calling Glendale’s Transit Division at 623-930-3500. There will be no Dial-a-Ride same-day service on Nov. 11 or Nov. 27-28.
While the Glendale Municipal Airport will remain open during these holidays, the airport’s administrative offices will be closed. In addition, Glendale’s three public libraries will be closed, as well as the Glendale Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Glendale’s Foothills Recreations and Aquatics Center will be open on Veterans Day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The center will be closed, however, for Thanksgiving Day and through Sunday, Nov. 30 for annual maintenance. The Glendale Adult Center will be closed Nov. 11 and Nov. 27-28 for the holidays. For more information on the Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center, call 623-930-4600.
