To celebrate the National Historic Preservation Month, the Glendale Historic Preservation Commission will sponsor the May 17, 2008, Historic Preservation Bus Tour.

Ron Short, FAICP, Deputy Director of Long Range Planning for the City of Glendale stated, “The bus tour will provide an outstanding opportunity for participants to see and visit Glendale’s lesser known historic resources."

Participants will be touring historic houses in Catlin Court Historic District, Floralcroft Historic District, and 59th Avenue Residential Historic District, with a stop at the Myrtle Avenue Cultural Entryway.

The bus tour will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2008, from 9 a.m. to noon. Participants will meet at the Glendale Civic Center, 5750 W. Glenn Drive. Light refreshments and snacks will be served. Participants also will receive a tour book explaining the various historic resources and other items of interest along the tour route.
