Cesar E. Chavez Breakfast

The Glendale Chamber of Commerce Foundation, in partnership with the City of Glendale Hispanic Network, will host the 5th Annual Cesar Chavez 'Celebrating Diversity' breakfast on Friday, March 28, 7:30 a.m., at the Glendale Civic Center.

The event commemorates the legacy of Cesar Chavez and recognizes outstanding community leadership for the promotion of diversity in the West Valley.

Keynote speaker for the breakfast will be Edmundo Hidalgo, CEO of Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc.  CPLC is a statewide community development corporation committed to building strong, healthy communities as a lead advocate, coalition builder and direct service provider.

Mr. Hidalgo has more than 20 years experience in community development, having developed, financed or sold more that $320 million in single and multi family affordable housing.  He serves on a number of boards and groups committed to championing minority causes and was honored in 2005 as the Minority Small Business Champion of the Year by the US Small Business Administration Arizona District Office.

Glendale City Manager Ed Beasley Honored

At the breakfast, the Cesar Chavez Diversity Award will be presented to an individual or organization in recognition of their outstanding community leadership and diversity. This year's recipient is Glendale City Manager Ed Beasley.

Proceeds from the breakfast event will benefit the Cesar Chavez Foundation and provide scholarships for high school students pursuing a college education.

The mission of the Glendale Chamber Foundation, a 501©3 organization, is to provide business and educational opportunities to support and celebrate diversity in the community.  Please join the Foundation and the City of Glendale Hispanic Network in celebrating the life, legacy and leadership of Cesar Chavez.

Reservations for the breakfast are $25, or $250 for a table of 10, and may be reserved by phone at 623-937-4754.
