New Downtown Glendale Parking Garage Adds More Options for Downtown Visitors
Downtown Glendale shoppers and diners will now be able to park in style. Beginning Monday, March 3, drivers will be pulling into the new downtown 600-space Glendale parking structure, which boasts 11,000 square feet of retail and office space with five parking levels and beautiful brick façade reminiscent of Glendale’s roots.
About the Garage
This new parking structure replaced a 140-space surface parking lot, adjacent to the Bank of America Building. It has one level of underground parking, retail and restaurants at ground level and three parking levels above. The retail area named the Promenade at Palmaire will be on the north side of the structure, adjacent to Catlin Court. Entrance and exits front 58th Drive and 58th Avenue.
Restaurants and other tenants will be opening in the next several months.
“This parking structure will fulfill the parking needs for the thousands of visitors coming to the shops, museums, restaurants, the Glendale Civic Center, as well as to downtown special events,” said Glendale Deputy Communications Director Jennifer Reichelt. “This project is also another example of the continued redevelopment efforts in downtown Glendale, along with the downtown Pedestrian Enhancement project and the Downtown Plaza project”
Construction of the new 600-space downtown parking structure began in March 2007. It will be the third parking garage in downtown Glendale.
