Did You Know...
Did you know that your Glendale City Utilities Department is making great strides to be leaner and greener by reducing its energy consumption and carbon footprint?
By 2012 the Arrowhead Ranch Water Reclamation Facility will have installed a new energy efficient Ultraviolet Light Disinfection System and High Efficiency blowers, reducing total energy cost for that facility by up to 40% or $200,000 per year.
Recently an agreement was reached with the Arizona Nuclear Power Project (ANPP) to purchase effluent from the 91st Ave Wastewater Treatment Plant, in which Glendale is a partner with Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa and Scottsdale. This agreement will provide the City with millions of dollars in revenue over the next 10 to 20 years.
