Morocco comes to Downtown Glendale!

Mayor Scruggs served as the honorary chair of World Tour, The Bead Museum’s inaugural fundraiser. The April 7, 2006 event, held in the newly renovated Glendale Civic Center plaza, featured Moroccan entertainment and cuisine. World Tour celebrated the 20th anniversary of The Bead Museum and the grand opening of its contemporary gallery.

Mayor Scruggs and board President Brinley Thomas present Gabrielle Liese with the Spirit Award. Gabrielle, the museum’s fonder, was recognized for her years of work fostering the historical, cultural and artistic significance of beads and adornments.

Mayor Scruggs and her husband Larry enjoy the evening's festivities at the Bead Museum World Tour. The event featured a variety of Moroccan attractions including an ornately adorned live camel.
