Ereaders may be borrowed by Glendale Public Library card holders in good standing (i.e. no fines outstanding) who are age 18 and over. You may not borrow an eReader if you have previously violated the eReader Loan Policy.
A valid Glendale Public Library card and current photo ID must be presented at time of checkout.
EReaders may be borrowed for one loan period of 28 days and may not be renewed.
EReaders must be returned directly to the Circulation desk. EReaders may not be returned in the book drop. Borrowers will be billed for resulting damage to eReader and/or peripherals and may be denied future eReader checkout. EReaders may be returned to any Glendale Public Library branch.
Borrowers may not install any software or download any books onto the EReader.
Borrowers may not alter, delete or copy any software loaded on the eReader or otherwise change its existing software or hardware configuration.
FINES/ FEES/ LIABILITY
EReaders are the sole responsibility of the borrower. The library will not be responsible for a lost, stolen, or damaged eReader.
Overdue fines on eReaders are $1.00 per day with a maximum of $5.00. There is no grace period on eReaders.
The replacement costs for a damaged or lost eReader and/or its peripherals are as follows:
NOOK Simple Touch eReader: $400.00
NOOK Power Kit – Power adaptor and USB cable: $24.95
