Temporary Customer Assistance Representative - C.A.P. Office - Full-time

SALARY: $12.77 - $20.43 Hourly DOQ

NOTE: This position is full-time, temporary and does not include benefits.

JOB ELEMENTS INCLUDE:

  • Answers incoming telephone lines.
  • Assesses citizen concerns and complaints, routing them to the appropriate staff.
  • Provides information and referral services to citizens and staff.
  • Maintains procedure manuals and updates as needed.
  • Routes complaints to appropriate personnel.
  • Prepares mailings.
  • Types forms, cards, lists and limited correspondence and form letters using a typewriter or word processor; performs data entry and assigns codes and records numbers. 
  • Performs miscellaneous office duties as directed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or G.E.D. and one year experience in local government customer service and the operation of telecommunication equipment and computers. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience working in a high-volume customer service environment. Bi-lingual ability (Spanish-English) preferred. Any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, is qualifying.

SELECTION PROCESSApplications will be screened for the minimum qualifications and special requirements.  Applicants meeting the minimum qualifications and special requirements will be placed on an eligibility list.  Eligibility lists are active for up to six months.  Human Resources reserves the right to terminate or extend the life of an eligibility list at any time.  The hiring department will contact those candidates they wish to test and/or interview.
