SALARY: $33,900 - $54,240 DOQ Annually

Note: This list may be used to fill other part-time, full-time, regular and temporary vacancies city-wide over the next 6 months. The current vacancy exists in the Office of the Mayor.
JOB ELEMENTS INCLUDE:
- Coordinates all aspects of the mayor’s schedule and calendar; conducts research by gathering background data for meetings; composes talking points for speeches
- Receives calls from the media; coordinates responses as directed
- Prepares, writes and/or edits communications to constituents, city departments or external organizations
- Works cooperatively with department representatives to address constituent requests and concerns; inputs constituent issues into the Request for Services (RFS) system; conducts timely follow up with constituents
- Participates in the preparation and administration of the department’s annual budget
- Researches and writes proclamations; composes council communications
- Provides information to the public on department programs and city projects
- Administers and conducts special and ongoing projects for the department or mayor, which may include design, development, department coordination and implementation
- Conducts research by gathering data from various sources; prepares reports
- Assists in developing new department policies and procedures; coordinates their implementation
- Maintains records and prepares financial, activity and progress reports
- Provides staff support or liaison activities to internal or external committees and organizations
- Enters department information and statistics into appropriate database
- Monitors contracts and agreements to assure compliance
- Assists in automating department functions and determining most effective software applications
- Conducts safety inspections within area of assignment
- Represents department at various meetings
- Performs other related duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's Degree in business or public administration or area of assignment and two years experience providing management support in area of assignment. Any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, is qualifying.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Arizona driver's license
