GLENDALE PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM
(Main Branch, Foothills Branch, Velma Teague Branch)

SALARY: $7.48 per hour

NOTE:  This position is temporary part-time at 19 hours per-week and does not include benefits.

While there may be no openings at this time, future vacancies will be filled from applications on file. Applications will be accepted from interested individuals at any time and will be held for a period of (6) months each time that an individual applies. JOB DESCRIPTION: Library Pages work under supervision in various departments and previous training or special knowledge of library routines is not required. Typical duties include: checking in library materials on automated computer system, shelving library materials; maintaining numerical and alphabetical order of library materials; cleaning and inspecting library materials. Hours worked may include weekends, evenings and holidays. This position is considered part-time temporary and does not include benefits.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to read sort, file and shelve library materials accurately, both alphabetical and numerical.          
  • Some computer skills.
  • Ability to follow written and oral directions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective cooperative working relationships with other employees.
  • Ability to perform and complete assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods and to perform lifting and pushing of moderately heavy items.
