JOB ELEMENTS INCLUDE:
- Supports the Mayor, City Council, City Manager, and management staff for audio/visual needs in support of City Council sessions, workshops and events.
- Under general supervision, oversees the purchase, installation and support of audio visual, network, communications, including LAN/WAN. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situation requires evaluation and judgment.
- Responsible for evaluating current systems, assists in planning, supervision, set-up and operation of large-scale audio visual systems. Requires thorough knowledge of DSP based audio systems, CobraNet, HiQnet, IP, ISDN, LAN/WAN, AMX control systems, Twisted Pair, and Broad Band Video systems, Video networks, and applications.
- Manages the audio, video, lighting, staging and backline productions of major citywide special events, festivals, ground breakings, and televised or non-televised public events. Responsible for coordinating audiovisual for major events such as: Fiesta Glendale, Glendale Glitter and Glow, the Jazz Festival and the Chocolate Affair.
- Responsible for equipment procurement, project management, systems installation, programming, networking and maintenance of audiovisual systems.
- Develops networks to enable control of citywide AV equipment via the internet.
- Maintains and repairs existing equipment.
- Assists the division head in determining staffing needed for various events, developing task lists and directing the efforts of work crews, decisions related to vendor and client relationships.
- Serves as supervisor of the division during the absence of the division head.
- Serves as on-site supervisor for audiovisual temporary workers for special events and installation of equipment. Responsible for the safe operation of AV components and up to 16 temporary personnel.
- Assists in the inventory and replacement program management of AV equipment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in network engineering, electronics or related field and two years experience in the design, set up and operation of analog and digital audio, projection, and lighting systems. Preference will be given to candidates with one year of supervisory experience. Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and ability, may qualify.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Valid Arizona Driver’s License.
