Mission Statement
The Community Housing Division is responsible for addressing the rental housing needs of Glendale residents who cannot afford housing in the private market. Through the administration of a federal Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program and a Conventional Public Housing program, the division helps eligible residents to secure safe, decent and sanitary housing.
For the 18th consecutive year, Glendale’s Community Housing Division has been rated as a high performer by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for Fiscal Year ending June 2011.
AMENDMENTS TO THE GLENDALE COMMUNITY HOUSING DIVISION'S AGENCY PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR 2013-14
In accordance with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations, the Glendale Community Housing Division (CHD) will discuss amendments to the Glendale Community Housing Division’s Agency Plan for Fiscal Year 2013-14, with the Community Development Advisory Committee. These documents are also available to the public for review and inspection from January 8, 2013, through the close of business on February 21, 2013, at the CHD Office located at 6842 North 61st Avenue, Glendale, Arizona. CHD hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.

THE WAIT LIST
EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2012
Great News! If you are on the wait list for Section 8 or Conventional
Public Housing, you no longer have to come to the administration office
to find out where you are on the list.
Wait list placement information is available 24 hours, seven days a week by
calling 1-855-637-3551. Please call the number and follow the prompts.
If you recently applied, your information will be available after the first
day of the month, after you received your confirmation letter. The
waiting list is only updated on the first day of each month.
Placement on the waiting list can only be accessed with the social
security number and date of birth for the person listed as head of
household.
Remember - It is your responsibility to inform Glendale Housing in
writing within 10 days of any change to income, family members, or
address.
PLEASE NOTE: Glendale Housing no longer provides wait list
placement information at the administration office.

NEW! PUBLIC NOTICE - Glendale Community Housing is OPEN for new applications for Conventional Public Housing Program
The Glendale Community Housing Division will begin accepting applications for the Conventional Public Housing program by telephone ONLY at (623) 930-2199 between the hours of 9-11 a.m. on June 12, 2012, until further notice.
Persons with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation, such as voice phone though AZ Relay TTY at 1-800-367-8939. Requests should be made early to allow time to arrange the accommodation.
The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program is closed for new applications.
