All artwork will be available for sale.

The Road Less Traveled by A O TuckerConnie Tucker enjoys candid and nature photography. Nature has always inspired her, with hummingbirds holding a special place in her heart. She was recently co-curator of the Herberger’s “My Favorite Fairy Tale" exhibit, for children ages 2-5.

A O "Archie" Tucker grew up on a farm west of Phoenix before receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University. A self-taught artist, he didn’t become serious about photography until purchasing a DSLR in late 2011. Since his first exhibit at the Herberger in 2014, this native Arizonan has displayed artwork in juried exhibits from California to New York.

Working together, these married photographers have co-curated the successful 2015 “Candid Photography” exhibit for the Herberger Theater at the University Club of Phoenix, as well as the 2016 “Feathers and Fur” exhibit at the Gallery Glendale. The University Club and The Herberger Theater Art Gallery also featured their dual solo exhibits in 2016. This June sees them co-curating the “Animals” exhibit, an art show for children ages 2-5, for the Herberger Theater and First Things First. Currently, they call both Arizona and Nicaragua home.

Silkscreen Six

This exhibit showcases the artwork of Jeremy Yocum, Jon Arvizu, Emily Costello, Manny Burruel, Janet Burruel, and Louis Giordano. Discover how six accomplished Valley artists uniquely approach this printmaking medium. You might even be tempted to purchase something to take home with you.

Monosilkscreen/Serigraph printmaking is a type of screen-printing in which the artwork is painted directly onto a 160 mesh silkscreen. By using a squeegee, the image is transferred through the screen onto paper. The process typically requires some preliminary planning and drawing, but once ink is applied onto the screen, the artist has only 15 minutes to complete the painting. This urgency contributes to a spontaneity that leads to amazing results.
