Glendale Fire and Midwestern Universtiy Team Up and Offer
FREE Training on a Life Saving Technique to More Than 100 People
Glendale Firefighters and personnel from Midwestern University will gather to give free training on CCC (Continues Chest Compressions) and AED (Automated External Defibrillators) to over 100 medic students, school teachers, parents, caregivers and others who will attend the free two hour class at Midwestern University, located at 19555 N. 59th Avenue in Glendale on Thursday January 17, 2008. The class hours are from 7pm-9pm. Well over 100 people have already signed up for the life saving class with walk-ins welcome.
CCC (Continues Chest Compressions) is a new form of CPR which has documented increased rates of survivability. The Glendale Fire Department and Midwestern University have been teaming up for the free monthly course since September 2007.
“Our goal is to teach as many people CCC as we can. We know as first responders, this can mean the difference between life and death,” said Glendale Fire Chief Mark Burdick.
More information on future classes on CCC can be found on www.glendaleaz.com/fire and www.glendaleshare.org.
