How can I schedule a Ride-A-Long with an Engine Company?
Due to Homeland Security issues ride-a-longs have been temporarily suspended.

When will Glendale Fire Department begin another recruitment?
We are anticipating the next firefighter-recruit testing, spring of 2008.  Please call our Job Hotline at (623) 930-3699 or check the website for up to date information.

How do I schedule a Fire Station tour?
Station tours are available on a limited basis by calling the Glendale Fire Department Operations Division at (623) 930-3417.

How do I report a possible swimming pool related code violation (green pool, no pool barriers)?
Please contact Code Enforcement at (623) 930-3610.

How do I enroll in a CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) class?
CPR classes are offered at no cost to City of Glendale residents. For registration and additional information call (623) 930-3474.

How do I get a copy of a fire or emergency medical service (EMS) report?
EMS reports are $4.00 plus $.80 per page after the first page. Reports can only be requested by the persons involved in the incident; by the parent or legal guardian (with proof of guardianship) of a minor, or by subpoena. A signed medical release form (signed by client or guardian) must accompany a written request by an attorney. Picture ID is required in some instances. EMS reports are available approximately seven days after the incident.

Fire reports are public information, with some restrictions, and cost $4.00 plus $.80 per page after the first page. They must be requested in writing to the Fire Marshal's Office, 6835 N 57th Drive, Glendale, Arizona 85301. Other information that is also required when requesting these reports includes, date of incident, location and/or incident number.  Fire reports are available 10 to 20 working days after a fire.

How do I obtain other fire related reports?
Property Searches regarding hazardous materials records check, underground storage tanks, previous sites, etc. cost $67.20 per address. An exact address must be provided. We cannot locate records using parcel numbers. You must submit your request in writing and address it to the Fire Marshal's Office at 6835 N. 57th Drive, Glendale.

How do I safely get rid of Hazardous Chemicals?
For disposal of hazardous waste, contact the Landfill at (623) 930-2191 or call the Hazardous Materials Hotline at (623) 930-2700.

For handling of hazardous materials, contact the Fire Prevention Office at (623) 930-3401.

How do I find out the closest fire hydrant for my insurance company?
For hydrant location contact the Utilities Department at (623) 930-2700.

How do I check my smoke detector?
Every smoke detector has a test button, usually in the center of the detector. Press the test button and hold for a few seconds. If it is working correctly, the alarm will sound and will automatically stop after a few more seconds. Remember to check your batteries monthly and change the batteries in your smoke detector once a year.

How do I get rid of bees swarming in my yard?
The fire department does not remove bee swarms unless they are attacking people or pose an immediate life-threatening hazard to people in the area.
For non-emergency bee swarms removal consult the Yellow Pages under "Bee Removal" or contact the Department of Agriculture at (602) 542-7182.

Does the fire department fill or empty pools?
Glendale Fire Department does not provide this service.

Does the fire department do free blood pressure checks?
Any Glendale Fire Station will do free blood pressure checks without an appointment, granted they are at the station and not on a call.

How do I refill or check my fire extinguisher?
The fire department does not fill or check fire extinguishers. Please consult the Yellow Pages under "Fire Safety Equipment" for a company capable of providing this service.

How do I report fire hazards such as; overgrown trees, weeds or debris?
Please contact Code Enforcement at (623) 930-3610.

How do I get a "Do Not Resuscitate" (DNR) card?
DNR cards are available at any of the nine fire stations.

Where can I get sandbags?
Sand and sand bags are available at every Glendale Fire Station. You must bring your own shovel and fill the bags yourself.

How can I get my car seat installed?
You can schedule an appointment to have your car seat installed by a trained Car Seat Installation Technician by calling (623) 930-SEAT (7328).
