Fire - Ask a Firefighter Columns
Heat Safety
As we enter the month of May, children are primed to finish the school year and families will be giving much thought on summer activities. Whatever you decide, the Glendale Fire Department is asking you to think ‘Heat Safety’. This is the time of the year when firefighters usually begin to see an increase in heat related problems due to the summer heat. Please remember the following heat safety tips as we ease into the summer months. The Glendale Fire Department thanks you for your continued support.
- Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of fluids and limit alcoholic and caffeinated beverages. These types of beverages can cause dehydration.
- Cover your head and use sunscreen.
- Do your daily exercise and yard work early.
- NEVER LEAVE CHILDREN OR PETS INSIDE OF AN UNATTENDED VEHICLE.
