Glendale’s Field Operations Department provides a variety of city services to both citizens and city departments. The department is organized into four operating divisions. Below are the divisions and the key services they provide.
- Facilities Management:
Provides preventive maintenance for city buildings and systems, graffiti removal, security services and the operations of the Glendale Memorial Park Cemetery.
- Street Maintenance:
Provides preventative maintenance services for the City street network including street sweeping, street and sidewalk repair, and right of way maintenance.
- Equipment Management:
Provides preventive maintenance and repair for the city's automotive and equipment fleet.
- Sanitation:
Provides refuse and recycling collection service weekly to single-family households and monthly loose trash services. Also, manages and operates the Glendale Municipal Landfill. Sanitation also provides refuse collection services up to seven days a week to the Glendale business community, multi-family complexes and adjacent communities.
- Landfill:
The landfill is a responsible, progressive and environmentally sound long-term solution to solid waste management essential to the future health, welfare and prosperity of Glendale residents.
- Cemetery:
Glendale Memorial Park Cemetery was founded in 1895 as a privately run service to the community. Prior to its creation, many early Glendale residents were laid to rest on their property or in churchyards, and most remains were later relocated to the cemetery. The city assumed responsibility for the facility in 1962.
