Glendale Assists Low Income Residents
In Filing For Earned Income Tax Credits
Glendale residents may discover they qualify for a larger income tax refund this year, and a resource is being offered to assist residents in tax preparation.
The city of Glendale is partnering with the IRS, Arizona’s Department of Economic Security (DES) and AARP to encourage residents to learn more about the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and find out if they are eligible to apply. Household income and number of dependent children determine eligibility. Income must be below $38,646 for 2008 to receive the credit. Last year the average EITC refund filed by eligible Maricopa County residents was $1,426.
Glendale residents can receive free tax preparation and financial counseling at several sites through the filing deadline of April 15.
